Current Mil Sim Weapons In Use:

Grenades & Effects
Paint grenades are known to be used but not often due to cost. Most of our scenario games may have effects instead, from pyros - Read below.
About PyroTech:
Pyrotech is a group made up of PNNZ airsoft players within Pyro North nz, who build, test and develop new display weaponry for pyrotechnics and film production. They create effects like mines and smoke for mockbattles battles and supervise the use of Pyrotech effects for private events.
The use of our pyros is currently not allowed on any public field, with good reason. However smoke dispesners are usually accepted, while our private scenario games feature rocket launchers, mines and grenades (flashbang sound type)
The MK53 (Fireworks Model SS2070) is a publicly available coloured smoke grenade, lasting up to 1 minute. The MK53 was the code name for the remodeling of the grenade to pyro north use.The initial cardboard casing was reinforced with metal & waterproofing, Naming it the Mk53 Tactical or TSG. Its tactical uses can vary, from drills to airsoft/paintball or mockbattles
Support Gear
Uniform:

While pyro north has promotional uniforms for its members, consisting of black and grey shirt or cap with our logos, during combat and games we wear military uniforms, Mainly in the GREEN role or the BLACK role for urban scenarios. DPM or Disruptive pattern material is the standard of the British and new Zealand defence force camouflage. Flame proof, suiting all environments, hot or cold, DPM sets the benchmark for camoflauge. The pyronorth group strives to use DPM uniforms, but also 'Rouge' or 'Scout' Hunters purpose created Tree pattern is used.
Scouts often travel light with tree pattern uniforms to spy or recon otherteams, relaying information back to the main team. Recon OR Sniper teams use TREE PATTERN or Ghiillie Suits. BDU is another conventional alternitave, the american based world known and imitated in todays clothing. BDU may not be as good as DPM or TreePattern but still does the job. Also other pattern materials from France, Australia, Germany, Belgium and Indonesia are used.
As always, our gear is purchased from nation wide dealers and army surplus stores. Ex-military issue is what we look for because of its high quality and standard.
Webbing & Vests

PLCE is short for Personal Load Carrying Equipment. PLCE is the main tactical webbing system used by the British army. In the pyronorth group, and other world wide airsoft teams PLCE and other ranges of gear/webbing are becoming more popular with the ammount of pockets and spaces for ammunition, food, water ect. Pyro north currently uses a variety of similar or co-compatible webbing or PLCE equipment so our teams can customize , interchange and share gear.
Our gear is purchased from army surplus stores nation wide , and internationally. We only use ex-military or security eqiupment to insure the highest standard of gear, and to provide full realism to the military style environment.
*In 2009 - 2010 we have started converting to Crossdraw & Modular systems, such as MOLLE. PLCE 48 hour rigs will still be used.
